Why Hillman

The floor lasts as long as the prep is honest

Most floor coatings fail for one reason — the concrete was never properly prepared. We diamond-grind every slab to a clean mechanical profile, repair cracks and pits, and install coatings to manufacturer spec. That's why our floors bond for years, not seasons.

  • Diamond-ground prep. A real mechanical profile — never a quick acid wash or a peel-prone roll-on kit.
  • Manufacturer-spec systems. The right primer, build coat, and topcoat for your slab and how you use it.
  • Written warranty. Every floor we install is backed in writing.
  • Owner-operated. The person who quotes your floor is the person who installs it.

Which Floor Is Right for You

One crew, every system — matched to your floor

Epoxy, polyaspartic, flake, metallic, or polished concrete — the right choice depends on how you use the space, the look you want, and your timeline. We install all of them, so our recommendation is about your floor, not about selling you the one system we happen to do.

  • Daily-driver garage? A flake or polyaspartic system — tough, slip-resistant, and hot-tire-proof.
  • Want a showpiece? Metallic epoxy for a one-of-a-kind reflective finish.
  • Need it back fast? Polyaspartic can often be a single-day install.
  • Prefer no coating? Polished concrete — the slab itself, ground to a sheen.

Good to Know

Common questions about coated floors

How much does an epoxy floor cost?

It depends on the size, the condition of the concrete, and the system you choose — flake, metallic, polyaspartic, or polished. We give you a clear written quote after we see the slab. No guesswork, no pressure.

Is epoxy or polyaspartic better?

Both are excellent when installed right. Epoxy builds a thick, hard base; polyaspartic cures fast, resists UV yellowing, and can be walked on the same day. We often combine them — an epoxy base with a polyaspartic topcoat.

How long does a coated floor last?

With proper diamond-ground prep and a manufacturer-spec system, a well-installed floor holds up to many years of daily use. Skipping prep is why cheap coatings peel — we don't skip it.

How long does installation take?

Most residential floors take 2–3 days. You can usually walk on the floor in about 24 hours and park on it in roughly a week.

Do you do the concrete prep yourself?

Yes. We diamond-grind the slab to a clean mechanical profile and repair cracks and pits before any coating goes down. The prep is the job.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — Hillman Epoxy Flooring is licensed, bonded, and insured in Washington (Lic# HILLMEL756R4), and owner-operated.
