Concrete Polishing

Sometimes the best floor is the slab you already have. We mechanically grind and polish concrete to a hardened, dust-free, low-maintenance finish — from a soft satin sheen to a high-gloss shine, with no coating at all.

Why polish

A finished floor with nothing to peel

Polishing refines the concrete itself, so there's no coating to lift, chip or re-do.

Polish or coat?

Polished concrete vs. an epoxy coating

Two good options for very different goals.

We'll tell you honestly which one fits your slab, your use and your budget.

How it goes

Grind, densify, polish

Polishing is a progression of finer grinds — no coatings, no cure wait.

  1. Step 1

    Grind

Mechanically grind the slab with progressively finer diamonds to open and flatten it.

  2. Step 2

    Densify

Apply a chemical densifier that hardens the surface and stops dusting.

  3. Step 3

    Polish

Refine through grits to your chosen sheen — satin, semi or high-gloss.

  4. Step 4

    Seal & burnish

A penetrating guard helps resist stains; a final burnish brings up the shine.

Existing slab condition drives the look — we'll set realistic expectations at the quote.

Good to know

Common questions

Is polished concrete slippery?

A polished floor is no more slippery than other hard floors when dry, and we can add a grip conditioner for wet areas. Gloss level is about look, not safety — we'll talk through the right sheen for your space.

My slab is stained and cracked — can it still be polished?

Polishing reveals the concrete's character, including some history. We grind out and patch what we can and set honest expectations at the quote — if the slab is too far gone, we'll recommend a coating instead.

How is this cheaper than a coating?

There's no coating material to buy and no multi-layer build — it's labor and diamonds refining the slab you already have. For big, sound floors that often makes polishing the lower-cost option.
