What it costs

Why we quote every floor in person

There's no honest flat price for a floor coating — the number depends on what's under your feet and the finish you want. Here's what we look at, biggest factors first.

  • Size of the floor

Square footage and the number of bays or rooms — the single biggest driver of materials and labor.

    High
  • Condition of the slab

Cracks, pitting, old coatings and oil staining all add prep before we can coat. Healthy concrete costs less to get ready.

    High
  • The finish you choose

A solid color, a flake build, a quartz broadcast or a metallic pour each use different materials.

    Medium
  • Moisture in the concrete

A slab that pushes vapor needs a moisture-control primer first — common in basements and older garages.

    Medium
  • Layout & access

Tight corners, lots of obstacles, or coating around fixed equipment all take extra time.

Five things people get wrong about epoxy floors

Prep is the part you never see — and the part that decides whether a floor lasts. It's the part we never rush.

More questions, answered

How much does an epoxy floor cost?

Every floor is priced in person because the cost depends on size, slab condition and the finish you choose. Your on-site quote is free and the written price is fixed before we start — no day-of surprises.

How long does an installation take?

Most residential floors — a garage, a basement, a shop bay — are ground, repaired, coated and finished in a single day. Larger commercial floors are scheduled around your downtime.

When can I walk on it and park on it?

You can usually walk on it in stocking feet the same evening, and most residential floors are ready for vehicle traffic the next day. We'll give you the exact windows for your floor before we leave.

How do you prep the concrete?

We diamond-grind every slab to open the concrete, repair cracks and pits, and check for moisture — never a quick acid-etch or a coat rolled over dirty concrete. The prep is what makes a floor last.

What finishes can I choose from?

Solid color, decorative flake and chip, quartz broadcast for maximum grip, or a one-of-a-kind metallic pour — all sealed with a polyaspartic topcoat. We bring samples to your quote so you can see them in your own light.

Is the floor slippery when it's wet?

It doesn't have to be. We can broadcast flake or quartz into the coating to add as much texture as you want — useful for shops, entries and wet areas.

Will it stand up to hot tires, oil and chemicals?

Yes — a properly built polyaspartic-and-epoxy system resists hot-tire pickup, oil, solvents and most chemicals, which is why it holds up in working shops and garages.

How do I clean and maintain it?

Just sweep or dust-mop, and wipe up spills. For a deeper clean, a damp mop with a mild cleaner is plenty — no waxing or resealing needed for everyday use.

Is your work guaranteed?

Yes. Hillman Epoxy is licensed, bonded and insured (WA Lic# HILLMEL756R4), and every install carries a written workmanship warranty. If something isn't right, you call the owner — not a 1-800 number.

Do you serve my area?

We're based in Woodland and cover Cowlitz and Clark counties — Kalama, Kelso, Longview, La Center, Ridgefield, Battle Ground and Vancouver. Close by but not listed? Call and ask; we often travel a little further.

Time & downtime

When can you use your floor again?

A coated floor is dry to the touch fast, then keeps hardening over the next several days. Here's the typical timeline for a residential install.

  1. Same evening

    Walk on it

Once we finish, the surface is dry to the touch. You can walk on it in stocking feet that evening.

  2. Next day

    Park on it

Most residential floors are ready for vehicle traffic the next day. We'll confirm the exact window for yours.

  3. First week

    Go easy at first

Avoid dragging heavy or sharp items and wipe up spills — the coating keeps building toward full hardness.

  4. Full cure

    Built to live on

Once it fully cures it shrugs off hot tires, spills and daily wear — and it's backed by your written workmanship warranty.

Curing times shift a little with temperature and the system we use — we'll walk you through the exact windows for your floor.
